Delbarton vs. St Augustine ’17 Rugby Highlights

The Green Wave Club Rugby team won its third consecutive New Jersey Championship on Saturday, May 28 in Jersey City with a 27-5 victory over St. Augustine.

Led by senior captains Jon Catania ’16 and Dalton Smart 16, and with just six other seniors in the starting lineup, “the team was an experienced squad all around”, reports coach Nick Linfante. The team finished with an 8-4 record overall, which includes wins over all other NJ teams, as well as St. Joe’s Prep (PA), Myers Park (NC) and losses to St. Thomas (Houston, Texas) and HS National Champion Gonzaga (Washington, DC).
